How the availability check works
For every name, we ask the official registry for that extension — Verisign for .com and .net, and the registry listed in IANA's RDAP bootstrap file for everything else. If the registry has no record of the domain, it is marked Available. If it does, we show it as Taken along with its registration and expiry dates.
Registries do not report premium or reserved pricing over RDAP, so a few "available" names may carry a premium price or be held back by the registry. Always confirm at your registrar before you get attached to a name.
Tips for finding a great domain
- Keep it short, easy to spell and easy to say out loud.
- Prefer .com for US audiences; country extensions such as .co.uk or .com.au build local trust.
- Avoid hyphens and numbers unless they are part of your brand.
- Check social handles for the same name before you register.
FAQ
Domain Availability Checker FAQ
Can I register a domain here?
No. We only check availability. Register available names at any accredited registrar such as Cloudflare Registrar, Namecheap or GoDaddy.
Why does a domain show as available when a registrar says it is premium?
Registries do not expose premium pricing over RDAP. The name has no owner, but the registry may charge a premium price for it.
Which extensions are supported?
Every extension with a public RDAP service — that includes .com, .net, .org, almost all new gTLDs and many country codes. A few ccTLDs still lack RDAP and are marked as unsupported.
Do you track or front-run my searches?
No. We never register domains, and we do not sell or share your searches. Lookups go directly to the official registries.
